Summer Project 2025 – Our project for this summer is to build a school kitchen with free Wi-Fi that is powered by energy from a solar panel. The kitchen will be equipped with a traditional wood-burning stove and will also serve as a cafeteria and school shop. Our vision is that in the future, the school will no longer be solely dependent on government or social support, but will be able to finance itself, at least in part! Construction will begin in August, and further updates will follow on this page!
August 2024 - The school does not only hold three toilets any longer, the construction work for the remaining three toilets has also been completed! Now all schoolchildren and teachers have access to clean sanitary facilities! Thanks to all members, supporters and friends of “Education is the Key” e.V. for their generous help!

July / August 2024 - The construction work for the remaining three toilets is ongoing. First the structure is completed with coral stones from the region, followed by the concrete walls and the roof. Only the doors and the interior are still missing. Soon all toilets will be in operation! Thank you for all your support!
March 2024 - Thanks to the donations of our generous club members, supporters and friends of "Education is the Key", the first three toilets for the children and teachers of Bahari ya Kati Primary School have been built! Additional construction work will soon begin on three more toilets.
